Hi. My name is Ms. Janine Grosso, and it is a pleasure to introduce myself as your child's second grade teacher. This will be my 4th year teaching second grade and I could not be happier. I graduated from the University of Scranton and I am dually certified in Elementary and Special Education. In 2010 I had the opportunity to live in South Korea for one year where I fulfilled my Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship. I am confident that my experiences so far will aid me in being an effective educator in this learning environment.
My educational philosophy consists of the belief in teaching students not only how to succeed academically, but how to be good citizens, as well as, independent and critical thinkers. I believe in supporting a classroom climate that fosters strong relationships between home, school and the community. It is my job to provide the appropriate level of support so that every student can reach their personal and classroom goals. I hope to learn from your child as much as they learn from me.
Furthermore, my goal is to create a welcoming and safe learning environment. I also like to keep everything positive. Students will constantly be motivated throughout the school day. I will always make my expectations clear so that every student has an equal opportunity to succeed. If any problems should arise in the classroom, I will take the necessary steps to devise an individualized plan to help that student reach the demands of the classroom.
I look forward to meeting you and working with you throughout the school year. I hope to keep open communication to avoid any misunderstandings. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns that you may have at firstname.lastname@example.org Together I hope to make this a productive and exciting learning year for your child.
